Repect is the firm foundation for love. Without respect for each other love can not blossom.
However one sould be careful because one could pretend to respect you from the initial stage of a relationship which you might think as love but may not be. A person who really loves you would buy your opion on issues, on the contary the other after seeing your nakedness would treat you as trash. Clearly this is not love
